Counting Coup, August 19 - December 31, 2011, The Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, Sante Fe, New Mexico.
Inspired by artist Ryan Rice who is the Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Sante Fe, New Mexico. He held a lecture at the Ontario College of Art & Design and showed a photograph that said, "Indian Artists Here Today" that he had taken in an underground parking lot in the U.S. The sign was used to entice people to come to a gallery that held Aboriginal art.
(More about Ryan Rice: He is also a co-founder and chair of the Aboriginal Curatorial Collective. In 2009, Rice toured his exhibitions ANTHEM: Perspectives on Home and Native Land, Oh So Iroquois, and Scout’s Honour; and he opened Hochelaga Revisited in Montreal and ALTERNATION in Toronto. His artwork has been exhibited internationally, most recently in the group exhibition Izhizkawe: To Leave Tracks to a Certain Place in Montreal.)
